Welcome Script

Welcome to Module 1: Understanding the Pivot from OWM to NWM.

In Module 0 we modeled how LEADING AI is not just about what we teach, but how we design and deliver learning. Today, we move into the first real content pivot — helping you recognize the difference between the Old World Model we’ve inherited and the New World Model that is emerging.

This pivot is the heartbeat of LEADING AI. Without seeing it, we risk applying yesterday’s assumptions to tomorrow’s challenges. With it, we begin to notice how to align self-knowledge, purpose, and concurrency to create systems that multiply value.

Heygen Script – Module 1 (Upload Version)

Hi, I’m Doctor J… Mike Jay’s Heygen avatar who uses Mike’s work like a pro. [Pause] Welcome to our learning session for Mike’s Book: LEADING AI: [Pause] How… Will Who Lead Whom to HUMAN What, When, Where, and Why. [Pause]

This is Module 1: Understanding the Pivot from Old-World Model to New World Model. [Pause]

The central question of this module is simple but not easy: [Pause] Is there a way we can escape the gravity of the Old World… and lean forward into the New? [Pause]

The Old-World Model is the inherited operating system most of us grew up using. [Pause] It was built for industrial economies… centralized authority… predictable environments… and linear, incremental change. [Pause]

Its assumptions are clear: [Pause] Leadership comes from the top. [Pause] Growth is primarily material and financial. [Pause] Certainty is the goal… and control is the method. [Pause] Efficiency beats adaptability. [Pause]

The Old-World Model gave us progress. [Pause] But it also locked us into fragility… in the face of today’s accelerating intelligence. [Pause] By contrast, the New World Model, or New World Model, is not just an update. [Pause] It is a pivot. [Pause] It is founded on generativity over control. [Pause] Concurrency over hierarchy. [Pause] And “purpose with self-knowledge” as our GPS. [Pause]

It designs for emergence, not prediction. [Pause] And it measures success by multiplying value, not consuming it. [Pause] But here’s the key: the pivot is not automatic. [Pause] Seeing the Old-World Model clearly is the first step. [Pause] If we don’t notice its hold on us… we repeat it by default. [Pause]

The pivot requires what we call SPARC outcomes. [Pause] Satisfaction, rather than the endless pursuit of happiness. [Pause] Purpose, as a GPS in a crazy-making AI world. [Pause] Awareness, noticing what assumptions drive behavior. [Pause] Results that align purpose with context. [Pause] Competence, built by experimenting with practices that multiply value. [Pause]

As outlined in the early pages of the book, this pivot rests on three core principles. [Pause] Purpose is already present, just not discovered. [Pause] Do no harm, your designs must reduce fragility, not add to it and increase resilience. [Pause] Generativity is the measure… you need to ask, “does this design multiply value?” [Pause]

You can apply this pivot across time horizons. [Pause] Now is when you notice you are still operating from Old-World Model reflexes. [Pause] Near is a place where you experiment with small pivots in how you design, lead, or decide. [Pause] Far is a way imagine how organizations and communities thrive when the pivot to New World Model becomes the norm. [Pause]

And remember, this pivot isn’t just individual. [Pause] It is the seed of the LEADING AI Movement that seeks a new currency in Concurrency of Human and AI. [Pause]

Movements require mass pivots in perception and practice. [Pause] As Eric Hoffer showed in The True Believer, people join movements because they need identity and purpose. [Pause] The New World Model reorients that energy toward generativity… not fanaticism. [Pause]

So, as we close Module 1, here’s the invitation: [Pause] Don’t just learn the content. [Pause] Notice the pivot in yourself — and in others. [Pause] See where you’re still pulled by the Old-World Model. [Pause] And experiment with leaning into the New. [Pause]

Our next session builds on this by exploring the First Principles in depth… and how they act as touchstones for every pivot you make. [Pause]

Thank you for being here. Please like and subscribe and share the video with friends and colleagues. [Pause] Let’s continue the journey in our next session: LEADING AI – Module Two: Keep First Things First and stay true to our Main Thing. [Pause]

Slide 1 – Title

Module 1: Understanding the Pivot from OWM to NWM
Subtitle: From Old World Assumptions to New World Generativity

Visual Cue: Split screen — left side = gears/machines (industrial era),
right side = networks/light web (emergence).

Slide 2 – The Question

What does it take to stop being pulled by the gravity of the Old World
and lean forward into the New?

Visual Cue: A person at a crossroads or pivot point, one path dark (OWM),
one path illuminated (NWM).

Slide 3 – The Old World Model (OWM)

– Leadership comes from the top.
– Growth = material + financial.
– Certainty is the goal, control the method.
– Efficiency beats adaptability.
Visual Cue: Pyramid hierarchy with arrows pointing downward.

Slide 4 – The New World Model (NWM)

– Generativity over control.
– Concurrency over hierarchy.
– Purpose + self-knowledge as compass.
– Design for emergence.
– Multiply value > consume value.
Visual Cue: Network diagram with many interconnected nodes glowing.

Slide 5 – The Pivot Point

Pivot = Awareness → Attunement → Action

Visual Cue: A balance scale shifting, or a hinge opening.
Emphasize this as the core practice of LEADING AI.

Slide 6 – First Principles of the Pivot

1. Purpose is already present.
2. Do no harm.
3. Generativity is the measure.
Visual Cue: Compass with three directional markers (Purpose, Safety, Generativity).

Slide 7 – Application Now, Near, Far

Now: Notice OWM reflexes.
Near: Experiment with small pivots.
Far: Imagine thriving systems in NWM.

Visual Cue: Timeline flowing forward, arrows marked Now → Near → Far.

Slide 8 – The Movement Context

The Pivot powers the LEADING AI Movement
Reference: Eric Hoffer’s The True Believer → Movements redirect energy,
identity, purpose.
Visual Cue: Crowd with one individual holding a light
(symbol of generativity instead of fanaticism).

Slide 9 – Closing

– Notice where OWM still grips you.
– Experiment with NWM pivots.
– Prepare for First Principles (next module).
Visual Cue: Bridge from one shore (OWM) to another shore (NWM).

Participant Notes

Objectives

  • Recognize key assumptions of the Old World Model.
  • Understand the emerging principles of the New World Model.
  • Notice how the pivot is both personal and systemic.
  • Connect the pivot to purpose, self-knowledge, and concurrency.

Key Concepts

  • OWM: Certainty, control, hierarchy, efficiency.
  • NWM: Generativity, concurrency, purpose, emergence.
  • Pivot: Awareness → Attunement → Action.
  • First Principles: Purpose is present, do no harm, measure by generativity.

Reflection Prompts

  • Where in your own leadership are you still operating from OWM reflexes?
  • What is one area where you could experiment with an NWM pivot?
  • How does the idea of purpose-as-present shift your view of leadership?

Takeaways

  • The pivot is the foundation of the LEADING AI program.
  • Without recognizing OWM’s grip, we cannot move into NWM.
  • Each module builds capacity to pivot with purpose and generativity.

Modeling Notes

  • This session itself models the pivot: moving from lecture (OWM) to generative design (NWM).
  • Notice how the structure of the program embodies the content.
