Practical 1
Full Demo. Exchange
PC = Person Helping
PBC = Person Being Helped
PC: Ready to do the demo now?
PBC: Yes.
For this first demo, I’ll stay in short conversation partner mode. I’ll answer naturally and minimally. After 2–3 exchanges, you can say AAR, and then I’ll shift into review mode:
S:DISS-X form used → IMULL read → RightACTION implication → APC source note.
Start with your first line.
PC: Hi, is there something important to talk about today?
PBC: There may be. I notice a small pressure around where to begin, not a big problem yet.
PC: Pressure?
PBC: Yes. Not heavy pressure. More like the kind that shows up when something wants attention before it has a clear name.
PC: What’s important?
PBC: The important part may be the beginning itself — finding a small enough place to enter without forcing the whole thing to become clear too soon.
PC: Are there things motivating you in this particular instance?
PBC: Yes. I’m motivated to keep this small enough to be useful, and to not rush past the first signal just to create an answer.
PC: Do you need to get something done now?
PBC: Not yet. It feels more like a moment to notice and clarify than a moment to act.
PC: Is there one thing that is important?
PBC: Yes. The important thing is not to move too fast before the real starting point has shown itself.
PC: How about one baby step before we close?
PBC: Yes. One baby step would be to name the starting point:
“We are practicing how to begin without forcing clarity too soon.”
PC: Is this a good place to close this session?
PBC: Yes. This is a good place to close.
It has a clean tiny arc: pressure noticed → importance clarified → motivation checked → urgency checked → baby step named.
